In a recent development, Ningbo Cheery Garden Tools Co., Ltd.'s (hereinafter referred to as "Ningbo Cheery") is operating at full throttle. On its fully automated intelligent production line, robotic arms precisely assemble the core components of lithium-ion battery pruning shears. In the company's electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing chamber, detection equipment performs 360-degree scans of finished products, ensuring every item meets rigorous standards. Outside the workshop, container trucks laden with these "green blades" are ready to depart. These garden tools, embodying China’s intelligent manufacturing, are exported to major European supermarkets at a daily rate of 8,000 units, finding their way into the courtyards of countless households worldwide.
Ningbo Cheery has dedicated over a decade to the R&D and manufacturing of garden tools, having established itself as an industry leader with an annual production capacity exceeding 2 million units (sets). Over 30% of its business comes from the North American market, and in the past two years, the company has actively expanded into Europe, ASEAN, and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries. "True innovation often lies in details invisible to the user," said Cheng Bei, the company's founder, while presenting a patented product. "This lithium-ion battery high-reach pruning shear adopts a 180-degree rotatable head, extending the operating radius by 300% and eliminating the need for climbing during high-position trimming. Our self-developed composite steel blade is 50% thinner and significantly lighter, while its hardness has been boosted to 58HRC. This 'light yet rigid' characteristic allows female and elderly users to operate it with easy, ensuring comfort even during extended periods of use."
"While overseas demand for lithium-ion battery garden tools is on the rise, the export of lithium battery products is subject to extremely strict requirements for packaging and labeling. Any non-compliance could lead to cargo detention or even rejection and return," explained Xu Ting, Foreign Trade Manager at Ningbo Cheery.
To help enterprises accurately grasp the key compliance requirements for exporting hazardous goods, Fenghua Customs, under the jurisdiction of Ningbo Customs, has actively implemented the "Pro-Business Direct Access: Enterprise-Demand-Oriented Response" mechanism. It assigned experienced personnel to provide comprehensive support, focusing on critical issues of enterprise concern such as hazardous goods packaging standards and labeling regulations. This guidance was delivered through a combination of "theoretical training and practical demonstrations," instructing companies on how to improve their packaging management processes and avoid trade risks. Meanwhile, it vigorously promoted the "cloud issuance" measure for export hazardous goods packaging performance certificates, enabling enterprises to download certificates "without leaving their offices" and significantly improving customs clearance efficiency.
