With winter approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, demand for heating solutions has climbed sharply, positioning various cold-weather products among the top export categories in recent weeks. A China-Europe Railway Express freight train, loaded with compact heating devices such as electric heaters, radiators, and electric blankets, recently departed from Zengcheng West Station in Guangzhou. The shipment was cleared by Zengcheng Customs, a subsidiary of Huangpu Customs. The shipment, dubbed “warmth from China”, is expected to reach European markets in about 15 days, providing households with reliable heating throughout the winter months.
In recent years, the China-Europe Railway Express has emerged as a key corridor for various smart home appliances expanding into global markets, leveraging its efficient, stable, and seamless logistics network. "When autumn arrives, heating home appliances become the go-to export product shipped via the China-Europe Railway Express," said Li Siqiang, Deputy General Manager of GCI International Train Operation Management Co., Ltd.
To ensure rapid clearance of seasonal goods, Zengcheng Customs has implemented streamlined procedures including advance declaration and appointment-based clearance services. These measures guarantee immediate inspection upon train arrival, enabling near-zero delay in Customs processing. Dedicated officers have been assigned to provide comprehensive support, maintaining close follow-up with enterprises on cargo preparation and their export-import logistics plan utilizing block train services. This team continuously monitors the real-time clearance status and promptly addresses any bottlenecks to ensure smooth processing. The Customs authority has further enhanced oversight service through smart supervision systems, incorporating intelligent gate system, remote video monitoring, and a smart supervision platform. This embedded, full-process monitoring enables visual tracking of cargo handling within the terminal, establishing a highly efficient export corridor forthe China-Europe Railway Express.
Additionally, to help exporters of heating home appliances navigate the specifics of quality, safety standards, and certification (such as the CE marking in the EU), Zengcheng Customs offers proactive guidance on technical trade measures. This service enables companies to master compliance with key market access requirements and enforces rigorous quality control from product origin to Customs clearance, ensuring full adherence to regulationsof destination country.
