China Inspection and Quarantine Times: Recently, a container truck loaded with bicycle parts, pet supplies and other export transit consolidation goods drove out of the Ningbo Beilun consolidation warehouse after applying customs smart locks. After the container truck arrived at the inspection area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port Jintang Container Terminal, the smart lock on the container and the fixed inspection equipment at the bayonet completed the read and write verification within a few seconds. After comparison, the smart lock automatically unlocks and the goods are automatically released.

In the six months since the smart lock was put into use, Zhoushan Customs under Hangzhou Customs has handled export transit business for more than 2,500 consolidated goods. At present, consolidated goods have achieved all-weather "fast entry and exit" at the Ningbo-Zhoushan Container Terminal.

The use of smart locks is a facilitation measure for Zhoushan Customs to promote the deep integration of smart customs and smart ports and help enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency. Through data sharing and linkage with the port area, clarifying the specific content of transit data, setting up early warning information such as lock body safety, transit goods can be automatically sealed and cancelled around the clock, facilitating the land transit transportation of import and export goods.

According to Wang Danli, assistant director of the market center of Zhoushan Yongzhou Container Terminal Co., Ltd., in the past, after completing LCL operations in Ningbo, goods needed to be transferred to Ningbo Port Terminal and then transported by barge to Zhoushan Yongzhou Terminal for shipment. At present, after the goods are consolidated, they can be applied with intelligent locks and transported directly to Zhoushan Yongzhou Wharf for shipment through land transit. "It has solved the bottleneck in land transportation of transit goods from Ningbo to Zhoushan, which not only reduces corporate costs, but also reduces the impact of barge scheduling on companies. The speed of port inspection and release of export transit goods has increased by 50%."

In addition to smart locks, Zhoushan Customs is also actively exploring the application of drones, smart robot dogs and other equipment in on-site supervision, continuously deepening customs-port linkage and technology empowerment, promoting the digitalization and intelligence of port clearance processes, further optimizing the business environment, and helping the high-quality development of ports. In the first half of this year, Zhoushan Customs supervised a total of 1.211 million TEUs of inbound and outbound containers at Jintang Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, a year-on-year increase of 69.38%.
