From June 25 to 29, the Dandong Municipal Bureau of Commerce organized an economic and trade delegation to Budapest, Hungary, conducting economic and trade negotiation activities to support our city's foreign trade enterprises in exploring the Central and Eastern European market and establishing channels for international communication.
Between June 26 and 28, the inaugural Liaoning Export Products Exhibition for Central and Eastern Europe was conducted. Dandong's exhibition section, with its distinctive products, attracted numerous specialized business visitors for negotiations and successfully secured intention orders totaling close to CNY10 million.
Dandong Xinhuan Automotive Electrical showcased numerous automotive electronic components, highlighting essential products like generator regulators and rectifier bridges, which caught the attention of Germany's Bosch Group on the exhibition's first day. Dandong Huayang Textile and Apparel prominently featured tussah silk fabrics and garments. Its unique natural antibacterial and plant-dyeing technology garnered interest among traders, leading to preliminary cooperation agreements with Hungarian local brands.
During the event, the Dandong Economic and Trade Delegation held discussions with the President of the Hungarian-Chinese Economic Chamber of Commerce and representatives from Romania and Serbia. The delegation provided a detailed introduction to Dandong's geographical and industrial strengths, expressing a firm commitment to exploring European markets. Dandong intends to leverage its border port advantages to focus on exporting automotive components, agricultural and aquatic products, and light textile goods, aiming to access the Central and Eastern European markets through the Chamber of Commerce's network platform.
The Dandong Economic and Trade Delegation also conducted an on-site visit to the Central European Trade and Logistics Cooperation Zone. Discussions focused on maximizing Dandong's strategic position as a critical border port city to collaborate in land-sea intermodal transport with the Logistics Cooperation Zone and enhancing the connectivity efficiency of the "East Asia-Europe" trade corridor.
Next, our city will fully support local distinguished enterprises to "go global" and expand into international markets. Efforts will concentrate on fostering collaboration with Central and Eastern European countries, particularly in automobile manufacturing, high-end textiles and apparel, electronic technology sectors, and more. This initiative aims to infuse robust dynamism into establishing a hub for openness and cooperation in Northeast Asia. (Affiliation of the author: Dandong Media Convergence Center)
