Recently, amid the launch of amazing Central and Eastern European Goods Promotion Season in Ningbo and the enthusiastic distribution of CEEC-exclusive consumption vouchers, more residents are gaining access to specialty goods from the region, fueling a wave of consumer interest in such products. At the same time, Ningbo-made products are accelerating their expansion into the CEEC market, demonstrating robust growth in bilateral trade. From January to August, the total import and export value between Ningbo and CEECs reached 41.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3 percent. Exports amounted to 34.03 billion yuan, while imports totaled 7.03 billion yuan.
Scented candles exemplify the “small yet sophisticated” products Ningbo is known for. A recent shipment of scented candles valued at nearly 330,000 yuan cleared customs smoothly in Ningbo and is ready for dispatch to Romania. Produced and exported by Ningbo Aromage Homeware Company Limited, this batch represents another milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to deepen its presence in the CEEC market and promote “the fragrance of China” worldwide.
As an integrated enterprise specializing in R&D, design, production, and sales in the fragrance industry, Ningbo Aromage Homeware Company Limited has steadily increased its strategic focus on CEECs in recent years. Zhou Youjun, the company’s Documentation Manager, stated: “We pay close attention to the preferences of CEEC consumers, ensuring our products align with local tastes in both design and fragrance. Leveraging our flexible production capabilities and customized services, we have also fostered numerous stable partnerships.” According to statistics, the company’s exports to Romania from January to August exceeded 28 million yuan, surging 61.3 percent year-on-year.
Ningbo Hongyi Electronics Technology Co., Ltd, a leading Asian manufacturer of power connectors, is on the list of companies expanding into CEECs too. The company’s exports to CEECs during the same period surpassed 80 million yuan, a remarkable year-on-year increase of 62.82 percent. “Our products include power connectors, Electric Vehicle (EV) charging devices, and integrated solutions, widely used in household, commercial, industrial, and new energy applications,” said Manager Yu, a representative of Hongyi Electronics. “In recent years, we have increased investment in R&D and expanded our sales channels in CEECs. Our technological strengths and reliable quality have earned recognition in markets like Poland and Hungary.”
Behind this vibrant expansion is the comprehensive policy support and streamlined customs services provided by Ningbo Customs. To facilitate the development of China-CEEC Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone, Ningbo Customs has actively implemented the Qinqing Direct Service Mechanism that offers Business Needs-Customs Response Platform for Enterprise Development, offering dedicated clearance windows and one-on-one consultations to address enterprise needs promptly. Additionally, through the website of China-CEEC Customs Information Center, the Customs has regularly published trade monitoring data and updates on EU technical trade measures. Since the beginning of this year, the Website has released 514 technical trade notices and 418 advisories on Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures, helping businesses mitigate trade risks, grasp market trends, and enhance trade facilitation.
Currently, a growing number of Ningbo companies, such as Aromage Homeware and Hongyi Electronics, are entering the CEEC market with high-quality products and adaptable service strategies, showcasing the competitiveness and resilience of “Ningbo Manufacturing” in international cooperation. With continued efficient support from Customs and other relevant authorities, economic and trade ties between Ningbo and CEECs are expected to deepen further in the future, injecting new momentum into regional economic collaboration.
