SARAJEVO, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) recorded a sharp rise of about 87 percent in vehicle imports from China in 2025, according to data released on Monday by the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH.
During 2025, a total of 682 vehicles were imported from China, with a combined value of 14.59 million convertible marks (8.86 million U.S. dollars), the ITA said.
The figure marks a significant increase compared with previous years. In 2024, BiH imported 364 vehicles from China, valued at 7.08 million convertible marks.
Experts noted that the growth in imports is driven by more competitive pricing, the expanding range of electric and hybrid models, and closer cooperation between Chinese manufacturers and local distributors. (1 Bosnian convertible mark = 0.61 U.S. dollar)
