According to Customs statistics, the total value of bilateral trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) was RMB80.41 billion in November 2022, with a year-on-year increase (similarly hereinafter) of 4.1%, including the value of exports to CEECs reached RMB63.18 billion with an increase of 6.7% and the value of imports from CEECs reached RMB17.23 billion with a decrease of 4.6%.
In the first eleven months of 2022, the total value of bilateral trade between China and CEECs was RMB845.07 billion, an increase of 10.6%. Among them, the value of exports to CEECs reached RMB656.06 billion, an increase of 16.1%; the value of imports from CEECs reached RMB189.01 billion, a decrease of 4.9%.
The main features of bilateral trade between China and CEECs in November 2022 are as follows:
1. Mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive products dominated the exports.
In November 2022, China exported RMB43.86 billion of mechanical & electrical products to CEECs, an increase of 5.1%, accounting for 69.4% of the gross value of exports to CEECs from China in the same month (the same below). Among them, the value of electrical equipments reached RMB6.43 billion, an increase of 55.6%; the value of automatic data processing machines and parts thereof reached RMB5.02 billion, an increase of 3.7%. Over the same period, the export of labor-intensive products amounted to RMB9.7 billion, a decrease of 2.3%, accounting for 15.4%. Among them, the value of garments and clothing accessories reached RMB2.87 billion, a decrease of 1.5%; the value of textile yarn, fabrics and articles thereof reached RMB1.85 billion, a decrease of 2%. In addition, the export of agricultural products amounted to RMB970 million, an increase of 109.1%, accounting for 1.5%; the export of basic organic chemicals amounted to RMB700 million, an increase of 0.3%, accounting for 1.1%; and the export of food reached RMB500 million, an increase of 68.7%.
2. Mechanical and electrical products, metal mines and ores, copper products were the main imported products.
In November 2022, China imported RMB12.16 billion of mechanical and electrical products from CEECs, down 3.1%, accounting for 70.6% of the gross value of imports from CEECs to China in the same month (the same below). Among them, the value of passenger cars reached RMB3.21 billion, an increase of 15.5%; the value of auto parts and accessories reached RMB2.29 billion, a decrease of 27.5%. In the same period, the value of imported metal mines and ores reached RMB1.04 billion, an increase of 140.6%, accounting for 6%; the value of imported unwrought copper and copper products reached RMB560 million, a decrease of 55.9%, accounting for 3.2%. In addition, the import of agricultural products amounted to RMB510 million, an increase of 12.3%, accounting for 3%; the imported food totaled RMB210 million, a decrease of 32.3%.
3. Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary were the top three trading partners.
In November 2022, China's imports from and exports to Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary amounted to RMB23.8 billion, RMB15.48 billion, and RMB9.73 billion respectively, a decrease of 2.4% and an increase of 28.8% and 6.2% respectively, accounting for 29.6%, 19.2%, and 12.1% respectively of China's gross import-export value from and to CEECs in the same month.
