Is there a relevant international standard? If so, identify the standard: [X] Codex Alimentarius Commission (e.g. title or serial number of Codex standard or related text) The 49th meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) (1997) [ ] World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) (e.g. Terrestrial or Aquatic Animal Health Code, chapter number) [ ] International Plant Protection Convention (e.g. ISPM number) Does this proposed regulation conform to the relevant international standard? [ ] Yes [X] No If no, describe, whenever possible, how and why it deviates from the international standard: In this standard, indexes for the hydroxyl value, iodine value and saponification value are added. Fatty acid identification test, propylene glycol identification test, acid (except fatty acid) test, dipropylene glycol and trimeric propylene glycol, and total propylene glycol test are deleted. The requirement for content is revised from "≥85%" to "in line with the claim". Detection method of free propylene glycol is revised from titration method to gas chromatography, which could detect total propylene glycol fatty acid ester content simultaneously. The main reasons are: the hydroxyl value, iodine value and saponification value are important characteristic indexes of the product; gas chromatography method is simple, stable and effective, and also in line with the actual situation of the domestic enterprises production. |
