TIR denotes an international cross-border road transport logistics model governed by the UN Convention on International Transport of Goods Under Cover of TIR Carnets. Compared with conventional road transport, TIR streamlines operations with single declaration processing and door-to-door delivery. Approved TIR-certified vehicles enjoy expedited customs clearance across contracting states, effectively meeting the escalating trade demands between China and Europe.
"As an international freight forwarder, we are keen to adopt the TIR system which enables single-vehicle cross-border transportation without transshipment," said Jin Wenjun, Executive Director and CEO of Jiaxing Huanyang E-Commerce Logistics Service Co., Ltd. "With the TIR international road transport corridor operational, goods can be loaded and sealed at origin then delivered directly to destination via the same vehicle, achieving efficient point-to-point logistics—essentially a 'Didi Chuxing' model for cross-border supply chains."
To ensure efficient TIR customs clearance, Jiaxing Customs has implemented proactive measures including establishing a dedicated task force with local government agencies. The team has optimized clearance procedures according to logistics routes and conducted specialized training programs for exporters and freight forwarders. The integration of China's International Trade Single Window platform, TIR-EPR system, and customs supervision facilities has enabled comprehensive digitalization and intelligent oversight of the entire export process under TIR operations.
