According to Customs statistics, in the first half of 2021, the total value of China's agricultural trade with Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) hit RMB4.95 billion, down by 2.4% from the same period last year (the same below). Among them, the imports of agricultural products from CEECs grew by 18.7% to RMB2.6 billion while the exports of agricultural products to CEECs came down by 18.4% to RMB2.35 billion.
The main features are as follows:
1. China mainly imported dairy products, rapeseed oil, sunflower seeds of oil residue cake, etc.
In the first half of 2021, China's imports of agricultural products from CEECs grew by 18.7% to RMB2.6 billion, accounting for 2.3% of the total value of China's imports from CEECs in the same period. Among them, dairy products increased by 39.8% to RMB760 million; rapeseed oil increased by 207.6 times to RMB400 million; sunflower seeds of oil cake totaled RMB260 million while there were no imports of that in the same period last year.
2. China mainly exported edible aquatic products, chemically modified animal and vegetable oils and fats, meat, etc.
In the first half of 2021, China exported RMB2.35 billion of agricultural products to CEECs, down by 18.4%, accounting for 0.8% of the total value of Chinese exports to CEECs in the same period. Among them, edible aquatic products dropped by 20% to RMB410 million; chemically modified animal and plant oils and fats hiked by 398.8% to RMB 150 million; meat (including meat offal) dropped by 29.3% to RMB120 million.
3. Poland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic were the top three agricultural trade partners.
In the first half of 2021, China's agricultural trade with Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic stood at RMB1.76 billion, RMB610 million, RMB510 million respectively, which were down 0.4%, up 24.3%, up 30.1%, respectively, accounting for 35.6%, 12.3%, 10.4% of the total value of the agricultural trade with CEECs during the same period.
