According to Customs statistics, the total value of agricultural products between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) was RMB910 million in October 2022, an increase of 29.9% over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, the value of agricultural products exported to CEECs reached RMB700 million, an increase of 57.1%; the value of agricultural products imported from CEECs reached RMB210 million, a decrease of 16.6%.
The main features of agricultural product trade between China and CEECs in October 2022 are as follows:
1. Electronic cigarette cartridges, aquatic food products and canned vegetable were the main exported products.
In October 2022, China exported RMB700 million of agricultural products to CEECs, an increase of 57.1%, accounting for 1.2% of the gross value of exports to CEECs from China in the same month. Among them, the value of nicotine-containing electronic cigarette cartridges and similar products reached RMB200 million; the value of aquatic food products reached RMB68.802 million, a decrease of 2.5%; the value of canned vegetable reached RMB44.298 million, an increase of 297.1%.
2. Dairy products, liquor, and beverages were the main imported products.
In October 2022, China imported RMB210 million of agricultural products from CEECs, a decrease of 16.6%, accounting for 1.5% of the gross value of imports from CEECs to China in the same month. Among them, the value of dairy products reached RMB67.041 million, a decrease of 37.7%; the value of liquor and beverages was RMB21.45 million, an increase of 2.9%; the value of casein derivatives was RMB16.759 million, an increase of 81.7%.
3. Poland, Romania, and Greece were the top three agricultural product trading partners.
In October 2022, China's imports and exports of agricultural products from and to Poland, Romania, and Greece amounted to RMB440 million, RMB86.736 million, and RMB83.77 million respectively, an increase of 32.7%, 16.8%, and 7% respectively, accounting for 47.9%, 9.5%, and 9.2% respectively of China's gross import-export value of agricultural products from and to CEECs in the same month.
