Recently, a foreign trade vessel named Omron, carrying 30,300t of coking coal, docked at Berth 22 of Zhenhai Port in Ningbo Zhoushan Port. Despite the cold wind, inspection officers from Zhenhai Customs, under Ningbo Customs, promptly boarded the ship to conduct quarantine and cargo inspections. Their swift actions ensured the coal could be unloaded as quickly as possible and cleared through customs to expedite its release.

Wang Yunfeng, manager of Zhejiang Mingrun International Freight Forwarding Co., stated, "Coking coal is one of the key raw materials for steelmaking. The company has been facing a shortage of raw materials recently, and this batch is urgently needed for steel production."

To ensure the supply for key enterprises, Zhenhai Customs reacted swiftly, acquiring advanced knowledge of the enterprises' import plans and the arrival of ships. They devised a scientific supervision plan, established a green channel for imported coal, and guaranteed "zero waiting" for coal unloading operations immediately after ships dock. They also synchronized the coal sampling process, facilitated the transfer of samples between on-site inspections and laboratory tests, achieving "instant delivery, instant testing," and fully supported the raw material supply for key enterprises.

While optimizing services, Zhenhai Customs strictly implemented the supervision requirements for imported coal. They utilized comprehensive methods such as on-site supervision and video patrols to monitor the entire unloading process and strengthened the subsequent supervision to enhance its effectiveness. They rigorously conducted radioactive monitoring, screened for foreign inclusions, suspected or adulterated solid waste risks, and strengthened the detection of toxic and harmful elements to ensure stringent supervision and efficient port operation.

In 2024, Ningbo Customs supervised a total of 1,785,300t of imported coal. (Written by Pan Chen and Guo Dazhao)
