The latest data shows that in the first four months of this year, Zhejiang's import and export growth rate to Central and Eastern Europe exceeded 10%, and the export of M&E products became the "main engine" of growth, with an export value of RMB 30.81 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.8%, accounting for 54.2% of the province's total export value to Central and Eastern Europe. Behind this impressive foreign trade "report card", Zhejiang Kema Engine and Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Kema"), a company in Luqiao, is actively exploring overseas markets with innovative technologies and products, contributing its "Luqiao strength" to the export growth of Zhejiang's M&E products.

Walking into the Kema assembly workshop in Pengjie Town, the automated production line is running efficiently, and workers are methodically packing the generator products that have just come off the production line. This batch of goods will soon be shipped to Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States, Central and Eastern Europe and other regions. As a backbone enterprise in the field of power machinery in Luqiao District, Kema has been deeply involved in the development, production and sales of gasoline and diesel engines, generator sets, lawn mowers and other products for many years.

The new generation of generator products launched at the beginning of this year have continued to rise in sales in domestic and foreign markets with their excellent quality and innovative technology. "We continue to tackle the core technology of generator frequency conversion control modules. The new generation of intelligent frequency conversion control modules has achieved a qualitative leap in control accuracy, response speed and energy efficiency performance, greatly improving the international competitiveness of products." Miao Jian, Chief Technical Engineer of Kema, introduced.

As early as 2023, Kema established a research and development center laboratory to focus on the demand for internal combustion power products, promote the implementation of high-quality new products, and help breakthroughs in internal combustion power technology. In response to the complex climate environment overseas, the models developed by Kema that adapt to extreme temperature differences can operate stably in severe cold and high temperature and humidity environments of -40°C, showing powerful performance.

Relying on its technological advantages, Kema's export volume of frequency converters exceeded 300,000 units in 2024, occupying a significant share in the Central and Eastern European market and becoming one of the core suppliers in the industry. From January to April this year, the company's exports in the Middle East reached about RMB 60 million.

"We will conduct in-depth research on the market demand of Central and Eastern Europe, optimize and upgrade existing products around noise control, energy-saving standards, etc., and develop generator products that are more suitable for local families and industrial scenarios. Moreover, we will strengthen cooperation with dealers in Central and Eastern Europe, expand sales channels, and inject new momentum into trade between Taizhou and Central and Eastern Europe." Miao Jian said.

In 2024, the new factory of Kema in Taizhou was put into operation, introducing advanced equipment and starting a new R&D and production model. At present, the company's annual output value is nearly RMB 1 billion and the output exceeds 1 million units, and it has more than 100 professional R&D and technical talents, continuously demonstrating the innovative vitality and market competitiveness of "Luqiao manufacturing".
