Cutting, carving, edge sealing, punching...Recently, the production workshop of Ningbo Mutu Furniture Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Mutu Furniture") was bustling with activity, as workers worked diligently to expedite the production of orders for export. After inspection and approval by the Yinzhou Customs under Ningbo Customs, a batch of creatively designed and thoughtfully crafted children's furniture sets is about to be exported to France.

"In recent months, our production lines have been running at full capacity, with 7-8 containers exported every month. Currently, our export orders are scheduled through the middle of the year, and we are in talks with several new customers. We conservatively estimate a 30% increase in export performance for 2025," said CaiCiying, General Manager of Muto Furniture, speaking confidently about the company's growth.

Mutu Furniture primarily produces all kinds of special furniture for children, and its export mainly including the European Union, the United States, and Southeast Asian countries. In 2024, the company's export value reached RMB 18 million, with a year-on-year increase of 125%. "The competition in the furniture industry is highly homogenized. We primarily target the niche market of children's furniture, producing and designing unique sets of products. Due to their lively and diverse styles, they are very popular with overseas customers. In the future, we will continue to launch more series of new products based on market demands and evolving trends." said CaiCiying.

Facing the increasingly complex market environment, furniture enterprises in Ningbo are constantly looking for new breakthroughs. In addition to focusing on subdivided areas to create distinctive products, Ningbo YinzhouJiabo Furniture Co., Ltd. has chosen to increase the added value of products and enter the mid-to-high-end market.

"Our exported products are mainly solid wood furniture. Depending on the customer's material and style preferences, we offer high-quality woods such as white oak and red oak. Customers in the high-end market have higher aesthetic and quality demands, so our products involve more complex craftsmanship, and the unit price is also higher." said Li Luping, General Manager of the company. At present, the company's main export markets are the European Union, Australia, and other countries and regions. Recently, it has also expanded into emerging markets in the Middle East and South America, gaining recognition. In 2024, the company's export value reached approximately RMB 15 million, with a year-on-year increase of 8%.

In response to the strong global demand for furniture, furniture enterprises in Ningbo are accelerating their expansion overseas. Efficient and smooth customs clearance process is the key factors in enhancing the international competitiveness of these enterprises. Yinzhou Customs has actively promoted the local inspection management system and the "Cloud Issuance" model for inspection and quarantine certificates, providing enterprises with round-the-clock appointment-based customs clearance services to ensure that products are "inspected upon appointment".

According to statistics from Ningbo Customs, the export of furniture and its parts in Ningbo reached RMB 28.07 billion in 2024, an increase of 22.7% compared to the previous year.

Yinzhou Customs has conducted a comprehensive survey of furniture production and export enterprises within its jurisdiction. They have provided whole-process follow-up guidance on problems existing in raw material control, production processing, export declaration and other links. Additionally, they regularly send the latest overseas plant quarantine policies and access requirements to enterprises, helping them improve their overall export competitiveness.
