In the first five months of 2022, the total value of bilateral trade between China and CEECs was RMB363.53 billion, an increase of 10.5%. Among them, the value of exports to CEECs reached RMB277.48 billion, an increase of 17.1%; The value of imports from CEECs reached RMB86.05 billion, a decrease of 6.4%.
The main features are as follows:
1. Mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive products dominated the exports.
In May 2022, China exported RMB40.35 billion of mechanical and electrical products to CEECs, an increase of 17.1%, accounting for 66.5% of the total value of exports to CEECs from China (the same below) in the same month. Among them, the value of electrical equipments reached RMB5.29 billion, an increase of 48.5%; electronic components reached RMB3.59 billion, an increase of 103.3%. Over the same period, the export of labor-intensive products amounted to RMB10.83 billion, an increase of 31.6%, accounting for 17.8%. Among them, the value of garments and clothing accessories reached RMB4.11 billion, up 73.7%; The value of textile yarn, fabrics and articles thereof reached RMB1.76 billion, up 9%. In addition, the export of steel was RMB900 million, up 144%, accounting for 1.5%; the export of agricultural products was RMB790 million, up 91.8%, accounting for 1.3%; the export of basic organic chemicals was RMB780 million, up 15.6%, and the export of food was RMB400 million, up 38.9%.
2. Mechanical and electrical products, metal mines and ores, wood and its products dominated the imports.
In May 2022, China imported RMB13.64 billion of mechanical and electrical products from CEECs, down 3.1%, accounting for 72.5% of the gross value of imports from CEECs to China (the same below) in the same month. Among them, the value of passenger cars reached RMB4.65 billion, an increase of 17.9%; The value of auto parts and accessories reached RMB2.43 billion, a decrease of 22.4%. In the same period, the import of metal mines and ores was RMB1.01 billion, with an increase of 138.6%, accounting for 5.4%; the import of wood and its products was RMB730 million, with an increase of 25.8%, accounting for 3.9%; the import of unwrought copper and copper material was RMB650 million, with a decrease of 60.8%. In addition, the import of agricultural products amounted to RMB350 million, a decrease of 38.5%, accounting for 1.9%; Imported food totaled RMB310 million, a decrease of 35.8%.
3. Poland, Czech and Greece were the top three trading partners.
In May 2022, China's imports from and exports to Poland, Czech and Greece amounted to RMB24.14 billion, RMB11.83 billion, and RMB8.19 billion respectively, with an increase of 17.7%, 9.9%, and 10.4% respectively. They respectively account for 30.4%, 14.9% and 10.3% of China's gross import-export value from and to CEECs in the same month.
