According to Customs statistics, the total value of agricultural products between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) was RMB1.38 billion in August 2022, a year-on-year increase (similarly hereinafter) of 70%. Among them, the export of agricultural products to CEECs reached RMB980 million, an increase of 129.2%; the import of agricultural products from CEECs reached RMB400 million, an increase of 4.3%.
The main features of agricultural product trade between China and CEECs in August 2022 are as follows:
1. Chemically modified oils and fats, electronic cigarette cartridges, aquatic food products were the main exported products.
In August 2022, China exported RMB980 million of agricultural products to CEECs, an increase of 129.2%, accounting for 1.4% of the gross value of exports to CEECs from China in the same month. Among them, the export of chemically modified animal or vegetable fats and oils or microbial grease amounted to RMB230 million, an increase of 483.9%; the export of nicotine-containing electronic cigarette cartridges and similar products amounted to RMB190 million; the export of edible aquatic products amounted to RMB72.724 million, an increase of 15.3%.
2. Oil cake of sunflower seeds, dairy products, liquor and beverages were the main imported products.
In August 2022, China imported RMB400 million of agricultural products from CEECs, an increase of 4.3%, accounting for 2.1% of the gross value of imports from CEECs to China in the same month. Among them, the oil cake of sunflower seeds reached RMB140 million, an increase of 2.3%; dairy products reached RMB130 million, an increase of 2%; liquor and beverages reached RMB24.886 million, a decrease of 4.7%.
3. Poland, Romania and Bulgaria were the top three agricultural product trading partners.
In August 2022, China's imports and exports of agricultural products from and to Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria amounted to RMB420 million, RMB330 million, and RMB280 million respectively, with an increase of 28.7%, an increase of 251.3%, and an increase of 68.9% respectively, accounting for 30.1%, 23.8% and 20.2% respectively of China's gross import-export value of agricultural products from and to CEECs in the same month.
