In 2024, the level of China's cross-border trade facilitation was further enhanced, with 55 new service functions added to the "Single Window" for international trade.
Led by the GACC and participated by relevant departments, the 2024 Special Initiative for Promoting Cross-Border Trade Facilitation has been launched in 20 cities across China. This initiative focuses on establishing model zones for optimizing the port business environment. To date, 29 reform and innovation measures introduced under the initiative have been replicated and implemented nationwide.
Proactively supporting the implementation of national strategies and further expanding high-level opening-up, China approved the establishment of 4 new ports, expanded the opening of 10 ports, and phased out 4 ports in 2024 with approval from the State Council. The functional layout of ports nationwide has been further optimized. A categorized approach has been adopted to dynamically adjust the operating hours of border ports, leading to an improved traffic capacity at key ports.
The construction of national smart ports and "Single Window" for international trade has been steadily promoted. In 2024, GACC led the issuance of guidelines for smart port development, launching pilot programs in 57 ports across 22 regions nationwide. The"Single Window" for international trade has provided a total of 923 services in 25 categories, effectively meeting enterprises' needs for "one-stop" and "end-to-end" business processing.
