According to Customs statistics, the total value of agricultural products between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) was RMB950 million in April 2022, a year-on-year increase (similarly hereinafter) of 20.2%. Among them, the export of agricultural products to CEECs amounted to RMB600 million, an increase of 58.9%; the import of agricultural products from CEECs amounted to RMB350 million, a decrease of 15.6%.
The main features are as follows:
1. Electronic cigarette cartridges, edible water products, and Chinese spirits were the main exported products.
In April 2022, China exported RMB600 million of agricultural products to CEECs, an increase of 58.9%, accounting for 1.2% of the gross value of exports to CEECs from China in the same month. Among them, the value of nicotine-containing electronic cigarette cartridges and similar products reached RMB100 million; the value of edible water products reached RMB57.448 million, a decrease of 16.7%; the value of Chinese spirits reached RMB43.292 million, and no such product was exported in the same period of last year.
2. Oil cake of sunflower seeds, dairy products, and sunflower seeds were the main imported products.
In April 2022, China imported RMB350 million of agricultural products from CEECs, a decrease of 15.6%, accounting for 1.8% of the gross value of imports from CEECs to China in the same month. Among them, the value of oil cake of sunflower seeds reached RMB100 million, an increase of 127.7%; the value of dairy products reached RMB87.781 million, a decrease of 32.8%; the value of sunflower seeds reached RMB24.107 million, an increase of 360.3%.
3. Poland, Bulgaria and Romania were the top three trading partners.
In April 2022, China's imports and exports of agricultural products from and to Poland, Bulgaria and Romania were RMB310 million, RMB160 million and RMB120 million respectively, a decrease of 8.3%, an increase of 58% and an increase of 126% respectively, accounting for 32.6%, 17.1% and 12.5% of China's gross import-export value of agricultural products from and to CEECs over the same period, respectively.
