On December 5, reporters obtained information from Hefei Customs indicating that in November, the China-Europe Railway Express (Hefei) operated 81 trains, marking a year-on-year increase of 76.09%. The service dispatched 6,662 TEUs, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 79.76%, and shipped goods valued at 763 million yuan, up by 25.29% compared to the previous year.
On the last day of November, the 339th 2024 China Railway Express (Hefei) slowly departed from Hefei North Station in Anhui Province and crossed the vast Eurasia via Manzhouli Port. This train operates under the "Railway Express" model as a specialized "white goods" service, primarily transporting upright freezers, refrigerator kits, washing machines, and similar items. It carried a total of 110 TEUs, all containing locally sourced goods from Anhui.
The China-Europe Railway Express, as a significant accomplishment of the Belt and Road Initiative, has in recent years become a vital bridge connecting China with Europe and other "Belt and Road" nations. "In recent years, the implementation of the customs 'Railway Express' supervision model has facilitated data sharing among customs, railways, and operating companies, eliminating the need for our province to handle transit procedures. This not only enables rapid customs clearance but also reduces operating costs," stated Chen Feng, General Manager of Hefei International Inland Port Development Co., Ltd.
To assist more Anhui-manufactured products in reaching the global market via rail, Lu Zhou Customs, under Hefei Customs, has innovated its supervision model to enhance the quality and efficiency of the China-Europe Railway Express (Hefei). This includes implementing convenient measures such as all-time appointment inspections, upgrading digital infrastructure to achieve paperless customs clearance, and ensuring smooth 24-hour train passage. Additionally, new strategies are being explored to integrate comprehensive bonded zones and cross-border e-commerce experimental zones with the China-Europe Railway Express’s operations, facilitating the development of new channels and routes for Hefei's service. The segmented billing model for the China-Europe Railway Express is being refined and promoted to optimize logistics costs, reduce corporate tax burdens, and further improve the transportation efficiency and service quality of the railway service.
