Xiamen, June 10 (CNS) – Under Xiamen Customs supervision, a shipment of Serbian agri-food products including honey, fruit juices, and wines arrived at Xiamen Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Zone on June 10, reported by Wu Guanbiao from China News Service. This marks Fujian Province's first import of Serbian agri-food products since the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between China and Serbia (abbreviated as China-Serbia FTA).
The current shipment through Xiamen Port comprises 75 categories of agri-food products valued at approximately RMB 1.2 million, representing significant growth in both variety and volume compared to previous Serbian imports via other ports. Notably, these goods were consolidated through LCL (Less than Container Load) shipping, an approach that substantially reduces logistics costs and facilitates market access for Serbian SMEs in China.

On July 1, 2024, the China-Serbia FTA officially entered into force, marking the first FTA signed between China and a Central and Eastern European country. Upon implementation, both parties will progressively eliminate tariffs on 90% of tariff lines, with eventual zero-tariff coverage reaching approximately 95% of imported goods value.
As the importer, Ye Shiwang, Chairman of Qina Supply Chain (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., stated that Xiamen's ongoing enhancements in openness and business environment provide enterprises with the confidence to actively explore new import channels. "While we previously exclusively represented a single Serbian wine variety, this import shipment comprising dozens of products represents a significant commercial breakthrough," he added.
To facilitate clearance, Xiamen Customs assigned dedicated officers to provide declaration guidance, helping enterprises leverage preferential policies including bonded warehousing and FTA rates, while conducting efficient transfer inspections to expedite customs clearance. After being stored in the bonded warehouse of Xiamen Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, this batch of specialty products will be imported at the preferential tariff rate under the China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement and officially enter the domestic market for retail.
