At the Erlianhot Railway Port, the steady rumble of trains echoes year-round. Fully loaded freight trains, known as the "Iron Camel Caravan," continuously depart and return, forming a crucial link in the economic network connecting Asia and Europe. Data reveals that, as a key hub on the China-Europe Railway Express "Central Corridor" and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, Erlianhot Railway Port handled 3,389 China-Europe trains in 2024—a 95-train increase compared to the previous year, setting a new historical record.

Since the inception of the China-Europe Railway Express, Erlianhot Railway Port has played a pivotal role along the Steel Silk Road. It connects 64 cities across 24 Chinese provinces and regions and links 72 stations or cities in 12 countries, including Germany, Poland, and Mongolia. With 71 operating routes, the port has created a vast network of economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Asia and Europe, advancing the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

By fostering industrial transformation, accelerating upgrades, and enhancing quality, the port deepens economic cooperation and promotes win-win development in the Asia-Europe region. As China-Europe trains pass through Erlianhot day and night, products like home building materials, machinery, consumer electronics, and new energy vehicles are exported more efficiently, while European cars, wine, and olive oil make their way into the Chinese market. Many cities along the route have also unlocked new economic growth opportunities, sparking revitalization and new momentum.

Technological innovation drives improvements in quality and efficiency, while service enhancements elevate the port's brand value. After extensive station expansions, smart port developments, and multiple technological innovations and service upgrades, Erlianhot Railway Port has transformed into a modern hub featuring unified scheduling, digital integration, mechanized operations, and intelligent management. By embracing a coordinated, integrated approach to port transportation, strengthening information sharing, joint control, and cooperation, the port maximizes the transportation efficiency of the China-Europe Railway Express "Central Corridor," contributing to the creation of a new northern opening strategy and supporting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
