According to Customs statistics , the total value of food trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) was RMB670 million in November 2021, a year-on-year decrease of 11.1% over the same period last year (similarly hereinafter). Of these, food exported to CEECs accounted for RMB350 million, an increase of 5.3%; Food imported from CEECs reached RMB320 million, a decrease of 23.8%.
The main features are as follows:
1. Aquatic products, dried and fresh fruits and nuts, vegetables and edible mushrooms were the main exported products.
In November 2021, China exported RMB350 million of foods to CEECs, an increase of 5.3%, accounting for 0.6% of the total exports to CEECs. Of these, edible aquatic products totaled RMB60.018 million, up 9.5%; dried and fresh fruits and nuts amounted to RMB56.339 million, an increase of 35.3%; Vegetables and edible mushrooms reached RMB38.315 million, an increase of 79.8%.
2. Dairy products, rapeseed and mustard oil, alcohol and other beverages were the main imported products.
In November 2021, China imported RMB320 million of foods from CEECs, down 23.8%, accounting for 1.8% of the total imports from CEECs. Of these, dairy products amounted to RMB86.709 million, down 16.1%; Rapeseed and mustard oil totaled RMB70.886 million, up 194.7 times; alcohol and other beverages reached RMB32.278 million, down 19.2%.
3. Poland, Hungary and Czech were the top three trading partners.
In November 2021, China's imports from and exports to Poland, Hungary and Czech amounted to RMB250 million, RMB94.44 million and RMB58.591 million respectively, a decrease of 10.8%, an increase of 361%, and a decrease of 22.8% respectively, accounting for 36.9%, 14.1% and 8.8% of the gross import-export value from and to CEECs in the same month, respectively.
