According to Customs statistics, in the first half of 2021, the bilateral trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) grew by 35.7% over the same period last year (the same below) to RMB415.96 billion. Among them, China's exports to CEECs increased by 31% to RMB302.2 billion and China's imports from CEECs grew by 49.8% to RMB113.76 billion.
The main features are as follows:
1. China mainly exported electro-mechanical products and labor-intensive products.
In the first half of 2021, China exported RMB215.34 billion of electro-mechanical products to CEECs, representing a rise of 37.2%, accounting for 71.3% of the total export value to CEECs (the same below). Among them, parts and accessories of automatic data processing machines thereof grew by 23.8% to RMB26.65 billion; electrical equipments grew by 68.7% to RMB22.94 billion. During the same period, China's exports of labor-intensive products totaled RMB47.24 billion, an increase of 8.2%, accounting for 15.6%. Among them, the export value of garments and clothing accessories grew by 25.4% to RMB13.48 billion; that of textile yarns, fabrics and articles thereof went down by 37% to RMB9.79 billion. In addition, China's exports of agricultural products to CEECs went down by 18.4% to RMB2.35 billion; exports of food dropped by 23.4% to RMB1.64 billion.
2. China mainly imported electro-mechanical products, copper and wood and its products.
In the first half of 2021, China imported RMB81.74 billion of electro-mechanical products from CEECs, representing a rise of 55.6%, accounting for 71.9% of the total value of imports from CEECs (the same below) during the same period. Among them, passenger cars grew by 105.5% to RMB21.63 billion; auto parts grew by 74.5% to RMB18.27 billion. During the same period, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper products hiked by 30.9% to RMB7.24 billion; imports of wood and its products went up by 16.6% to RMB3.32 billion. In addition, imports of agricultural products grew by 18.7% to RMB2.6 billion; imports of food increased by 3.7% to RMB2.01 billion.
3. Poland, Czech and Hungary were the top three trading partners.
In the first half of 2021, China's import and export trade with Poland, Czech and Hungary grew by 40.6%, 16.6% and 32% to RMB126.59 billion, RMB66.7 billion and RMB49.34 billion respectively, accounting for 30.4%, 16% and 11.9% respectively of the total trade value with the CEECs during the same period.
