According to Customs statistics, the total value of food trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEECs) was RMB1.58 billion in the first quarter of 2022, with a year-on-year increase (similarity hereinafter) of 7.8%, including the value of food exported to CEECs of RMB870 million with an increase of 18.9% and the value of food imported from CEECs of RMB710 million with a decrease of 3.4%.
The main features are as follows:
1. Aquatic food, grains, vegetables and edible mushrooms were the main exported products.
In the first quarter of 2022, the value of China's food exported to CEECs reached RMB870 million with an increase of 18.9%, accounting for 0.5% of the total value of China's exports to CEECs in the same period, including the value of aquatic food of RMB170 million with a decrease of 1.8%, the value of grains of RMB97.141 million with an increase of 97.1%, and the value of vegetables and edible mushrooms of RMB74.554 million with an increase of 32.1%.
2. Dairy products, sunflower seeds and corn were the main imported products.
In the first quarter of 2022, the value of China's food imported from CEECs reached RMB710 million with a decrease of 3.4%, accounting for 1.5% of the total value of China's imports from CEECs in the same period, including the value of dairy products of RMB200 million with a decrease of 42%, the value of sunflower seeds of RMB100 million with an increase of 68.4%, and the value of corn of RMB95.144 million with no import in the same period of last year.
3. Poland, Bulgaria and Greece were the top three food trading partners.
In the first quarter of 2022, the value of China's food imported from and exported to Poland, Bulgaria and Greece reached RMB560 million, RMB300 million and RMB160 million respectively, with a decrease of 16.7%, an increase of 97.1% and an increase of 29.3%, accounting for 35.4%, 19.1% and 10% of the total value of China's food imported from and exported to CEECs in the same period.
